Meet Todd Griffin

For most of us, the word “change” brings about a feeling of immediate anxiety.  For Todd Griffin, CEO of Summit Homebuilders, Inc., the word “change” offered a harbinger of possibilities from the very beginning and throughout his 30+ year career in the building industry.

Todd’s journey started with a summer job at Diamond Lumber, a national lumberyard company, during a college break.   Within three months on the job, Todd was promoted to outside sales working with building tradesman selling doors and windows for all types of construction projects.  Todd’s friendly manner, honesty and reliability quickly made him the go-to guy for construction projects, large or small.

Unfortunately, the retail store location closed, but the company kept Todd on and he worked from his home for a time, continuing to promote sales for Diamond Lumber, as they were still a national chain.  But soon after, Diamond Lumber’s operations completely shut down and Todd was forced into making new roads.  That’s when the light bulb clicked and in 1989 Todd decided to start his own company continuing to sell windows and lumber to the same builders he had developed relationships with working with Diamond Lumber.  The window and lumber suppliers were glad to continue their successful working relationship with Todd.  Working from his home and delivering windows and lumber from his father’s horse trailer to job sites, Todd worked non-stop building his clientele, knowledge and his reputation for his own company, Windows Plus.

Since that time, Todd, with his wife, Dina, by his side, have worked together building an efficient team who like themselves, invest their skill set everyday ensuring client and company goals are achieved.  Originally offering home windows and doors, today Todd has integrated into his business plan shower doors and mirrors, door locks and hardware along with interior crown moldings and custom cabinets continuing to build upon his legacy of serving the industry he loves.

Those early years of change, vision and hard work truly built the foundation for what is now Summit Homebuilders, Inc. offering semi-custom and custom homes throughout the San Joaquin Valley and beyond.  Todd’s hands-on approach to every project has fostered the leadership and team collaboration essential to retaining talented craftsman and quality workmanship throughout the entire organization and building process.  Thoughtful choices, careful planning and trustworthy relationships are the cornerstone to Todd’s vision for his clients and Summit Homebuilders, Inc.
